Reem's Dream
Reem Khalil , a Palestinian women who suffered from leukemia, spent her last days away from her two daughters, family, and friends. She had to travel to Jordan because the needed treatment and the subsequent bone marrow transplant (BMT) were not available in Palestinian hospitals. She therefore thought about a way to promote cancer treatment centers in Palestineand alleviate the suffering of cancer patients.
Reem started a fundraiser to support the treatment of cancer patients in Palestine by enhancing the capabilities of treatment centers and improving the efficiency of their services.
Reems herself did not see that dream become reality. She passed away on the 24th of December, 2021
Honoring her memory, a group of Reem’s family, friends, and colleagues, continue to run this crowdfunding campaign to realize Reem’s Dream. They decided to implement the first phase of Reem’s Dream in the city of Jerusalem, a city that Reem loved.
As the Augusta Victoria Hospital (AVH) is known for providing quality treatment to cancer patients across Palestine the proceeds of this campaign will be allocated to the Bone Marrow Transplant facility at AVH in Jerusalem. It was Reem’s hope that this would become a central hospital to combat leukemia.
After signing a cooperation agreement between AVH and Reem’s Family, the family has identified specific needs and requests to renovate the bone marrow transplant (BMT) department , which we hope they will achieve through this campaign
