Transportation

As part of its holistic services approach, the Augusta Victoria Hospital operates two shuttle buses to transport patients and their companions. One shuttle runs between the hospital and AVH-rented hotels in Jerusalem while the other runs between the hospital and the Erez checkpoint to pick up and drop off patients arriving from or departing to Gaza.

The shuttle bus that runs to and from Erez is wheelchair accessible, and has been running since August 30, 2021, five days a week, from Sunday through Thursday. A total of four trips are carried out per day, with the possibility of offering additional trips based on demand. On average, 50 Palestinian patients and their companions benefit from this service every day.

This service is meant to reduce the costs faced by patients coming from Gaza, to provide safe and secure means of transportation, and meet the needs of patients with disabilities. By offering this service, Augusta Victoria Hospital is not only working to improve health outcomes for its patients, but is also fulfilling its social responsibility towards Palestinian people by continuously striving to improve the quality of care and service it provides.
