Movement and access restrictions continue to challenge Palestinians from both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, such restrictions impact their ability to access medical care at the Augusta Victoria Hospital.

Our patients require daily radiation treatment which can be physically and emotionally taxing, and can also compromise their immune systems. Therefore Augusta Victoria Hospital established a patient and companion accommodation program that allows them to stay in Jerusalem while they undergo their treatment. Shuttle buses run around the clock between the hotels and the hospital, and local organizations contribute with food and other basic necessities to patients and companions.

The hospital accommodates an average of 140 patients staying at hotels on daily basis. This housing program is crucial in ensuring that Palestinian patients from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are able to receive an uninterrupted and convenient medical care.
