Home based Palliative Care

Home based Palliative Care

The Augusta Victoria Hospital  Home based Palliative Care Program is a groundbreaking initiative in the country that provides critically ill patients and their families with expert medical, psychological, and spiritual support in the comfort of their own homes. This aims to serving patients who are unable to come to the hospital or are in the end-of-life stage and in need of specialized care.

This program offers a comprehensive range of services, including relief of pain and other symptoms of incurable progressive illnesses, psychological and spiritual support tailored to patients' religious beliefs and needs, while ensuring the highest possible quality of life and dignity for palliative patients.

The service eliminates the need for patients and their families to endure the physical and emotional strain of traveling to the hospital and frees up beds for patients who need curative treatment.

Additionally, the program uses any necessary equipment such as mattresses, wheelchairs, walkers, oxygen generators, and more, to make the patients' treatment as comfortable as possible. Through this initiative AVH is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to critically ill patients and their families in the most compassionate and dignified way.
