First Shipment of Cancer Medications and Medical Supplies Arrives at Arab Ahli Hospital in Gaza After Months of Preparation
After several months of thorough preparation and coordination among Augusta Victoria Hospital- the Lutheran World Federation in Jerusalem, the Lutheran World Federation Office in Jordan, and Mariam Foundation with the support of Bank of Jordan, the first shipment of the much needed cancer medications and medical supplies has finally arrived at Arab Ahli hospital in Gaza.
This initiative was made possible by working with many partners at the local and international levels to prepare the shipment and receive the necessary approvals.
Dr. Fadi Al-Atrash, Chief Executive Officer at Augusta Victoria Hospital, stressed out that since the beginning of the war we have been closely following the health situation in Gaza and have been conveying the image of the deteriorating situation at all levels. He ensured that the hospital will continue its efforts to deliver more needed medications, medical supplies, and other items to people in Gaza.
Mohamed Hamed, Director of Mariam Foundation, thanked the tremendous efforts of Augusta Victoria Hospital and the Lutheran World Federation, and the cooperation and support provided by Bank of Jordan, pointing out that this initiative is very important at a time when the suffering of patients has reached its peak due to their long interruption of treatment.
Saif Issa, Regional Director of Bank of Jordan, praised the efforts made by Augusta Victoria Hospital and Mariam Foundation to help cancer patients from Gaza strip through supporting them and providing them with their life- saving medications especially considering the urgent need for these patients to resume their interrupted treatment as soon as possible.
It is worth mentioning that the overall Jordan corridor for aid delivery was coordinated with the Jordan Hashemite Charitable Organization.
Thanks to all the parties who were involved in delivering this shipment to our people in the Gaza Strip, especially the King Hussein Cancer Center in Jordan that also contributed to this initiative by generously supporting the procurement of the cancer medications.
This is just the beginning, and our efforts will continue to provide the best possible health care for all patients.
